Terms of Service.

Welcome to Neuro Kind Counselling®. By accessing or using our website and online services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Nature of Services

Neuro Kind Counselling provides online counselling services to clients aged 14 and over. Our services support individuals experiencing mental health and well-being challenges, with a focus on providing inclusive and affirming support for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals. However, our services are available to anyone seeking support.

Counselling services are provided in accordance with relevant ethical guidelines and professional standards. Please note that counselling is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is experiencing an immediate risk of harm or a crisis, please contact emergency services on 000 or Lifeline on 13 11 14.

2. Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

• Be aged 14 years or older.

• Have parental or guardian consent if you are under 18 years of age.

• Reside in Australia.

• Have access to a private and appropriate space for online sessions.

• Have reliable internet access and a suitable device for video sessions.

Clients under the age of 14 are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Neuro Kind Counselling before booking to discuss whether services may be appropriate.

3. Confidentiality and Privacy

Your privacy and confidentiality are important. Information shared during counselling sessions will be managed in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles and relevant professional ethical standards. Your personal information will be stored securely and only accessed by authorised individuals

Confidentiality may be limited in situations including:

• Where there is a risk of harm to yourself or another person.

• Where disclosure is required by law, including mandatory reporting obligations or court orders.

• Where you provide written consent for information to be shared.

4. Cancellation, Rescheduling and Missed Appointments

Appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Providing adequate notice when you are unable to attend allows the appointment time to be offered to another client.

Cancelling an Appointment: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee.

Rescheduling an Appointment

Appointments can be rescheduled through the online booking system up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. After this time frame, the online booking system will no longer allow self-service changes. If you need to request a reschedule after the online rescheduling window has closed, please email Ash@NeuroKindCounselling.com as soon as possible.

Where possible, I may be able to manually adjust your appointment from the administration side; however, this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Missed Appointments

If you do not attend your scheduled appointment and have not provided notice, the session will be considered a missed appointment.

Missed counselling appointments without notice will incur the full session fee, and payments made for the session will not be refunded.

If there are exceptional circumstances that prevented you from attending or contacting Neuro Kind Counselling, please reach out as soon as possible so your circumstances can be discussed.

Complimentary New Client Consultations

Complimentary 15-minute New Client Consultations are offered to help determine whether Neuro Kind Counselling is the right fit for your needs.

As these appointments are limited and reserved specifically for you, please only book if you are reasonably confident you can attend. If you are unable to attend, please cancel or reschedule as soon as possible.

If a complimentary consultation is missed without notice, or there is a pattern of late cancellations, repeated late arrivals, or non-attendance, Neuro Kind Counselling reserves the right to decline future complimentary consultation bookings.

Appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Providing adequate notice when you cannot attend allows the appointment time to be offered to another client.

5. Fees and Payments

• All fees are listed on the Neuro Kind Counselling website and may be updated from time to time.

• Payment is required at the time of booking.

• Counselling sessions are conducted online via secure video conferencing software, through Google Meet. A meeting link will be provided upon booking. Neuro Kind Counselling does not currently provide Medicare rebates or accept private health insurance rebates. This may change in the future.

6. Code of Conduct

A safe and respectful therapeutic environment is important for both clients and counsellors. Clients agree to:

• Treat their counsellor with respect and professionalism.

• Attend sessions in an appropriate environment.

• Attend sessions sober and able to participate.

• Communicate respectfully during sessions and interactions.

Neuro Kind Counselling reserves the right to end or decline a therapeutic relationship where a client engages in abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour, or where continuing the therapeutic relationship is no longer clinically appropriate.

7. Technology Limitations

Online counselling relies on technology that may occasionally experience issues outside of our control, including internet interruptions, device issues, or software problems.

If technical difficulties occur, reasonable attempts will be made to reconnect. If the issue cannot be resolved, an alternative arrangement may be discussed.

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have a suitable device, internet connection, and private environment for their session.

8. Disclaimer

Counselling is a collaborative process, and outcomes vary between individuals. While Neuro Kind Counselling aims to provide professional and ethical support, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

 Neuro Kind Counselling does not provide:

• Medical treatment.

• Medication prescriptions.

• Emergency crisis support.

• Formal diagnoses

9. Changes to Terms

Neuro Kind Counselling may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page, and continued use of services after changes are made indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
