FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is counselling, and how can it help me?

Counselling is a professional dialogue aimed at helping individuals navigate their emotions and the complexities of life. It provides a safe space to explore feelings, address challenges, and gain fresh insights. Whether you're grappling with overwhelm, confusion, or need a trusted confidant, counselling equips you with the tools to regain control and enhance your emotional well-being.

2. Do I need a referral to see a counsellor?

You do not need a referral! You can find our booking system under the Book Now button. If you’re unsure which service to use, please book a complimentary 15-minute consultation to chat with Ash, who will recommend the best option(s) they feel would work for your circumstances.

3. What happens in a counselling session?

A counselling session is a safe space to explore what’s going on in your mind and emotions. Together, we will take a closer look at your thoughts and experiences to understand their meaning better. With support, you’ll be gently guided through questions that spark reflection and insight. Together, you’ll work through challenges, build resilience, and discover practical ways to cope and grow.

4. How long does a counselling session last?

Neuro Kind offers multiple sessions ranging from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.

5. How many sessions will I need?

Everyone’s journey looks a little different. Some people start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others find that taking more time helps them go deeper. We’ll work together to find the approach and pace that feels right for you.

6. Is everything I say confidential?

Absolutely! Your privacy is paramount to us. All discussions are held in strict confidence, except when you're afraid of harm to yourself or others. We will talk about this together in your first session.

7. What should I do if I'm feeling crisis-level distress?

If it feels like you're in crisis, seeking help without delay is essential. Contact a helpline, your GP, or the nearest emergency department. Remember, you're not alone; support is available during difficult times.
